SAMPE France 2022

The GIE ALBATROS had hosted the technical forum of the SAMPE France which occured in Lorient (France) on the 17th and 18th of November 2022.

What is SAMPE ?

SAMPE stands for "Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering". It is a general organization devoted to the promotion of technical excellence in materials and process engineering, totalling around 15,000 engineers, technologists and materials scientists.

It was founded in 1944 by Californian aerospace engineers with the goal to build a professional network and improve the exchange of technical information. Since those times, SAMPE has spread all over the world and is divided in about 40 chapters. In Europe there are activities in more than 25 countries, organized predominantly in national associations like France.

What does it do ?

• Meetings: seminars, publications, and technical papers are forums available for members to discover and access the most advanced materials and processes being developed by the scientific community. Local chapters provide organized gatherings such as the one by SAMPE France in November 2022 hosted by GIE ALBATROS.
• Network Opportunities: For many of its dedicated members, the most important aspect of SAMPE is the ability to help make new contacts, forge enduring associations, and promote lasting friendships, as well as significant career advancements.

What about the 2022 event in France?

The GIE ALBATROS have hosted the 2022 technical forum of SAMPE France. The event occured in several emblematic venues of the city of Lorient located in Brittany (France). The agenda offered technical conferences, visits of industrial companies showcasing of their innovative activities, networking sessions and a gala dinner.

It was an edition of many records: number of participants up to 450 people, number of factories visited : 7 companies divided into 3 diffrent routes, number of additional activities with stands of local companies,  video-pitchs by SME etc.
